Manage Individual Permissions, Teams & User Types

Edit a person’s account information by updating their team, user type, and/or permissions. All user types have different default permissions, but you can edit and change those abilities whenever you want. Teams, user types, and permissions can be customized for each user. Users can be under more than one team and user type, as well as have different permissions and user types for each team they are on.

Set & Edit User Types:

To start, log into your Teamworks account in a web browser. Once you have logged in, navigate to Profiles, then either choose a user by selecting their name to access their profile or go to your own profile through My Profile

Select the Teams & Permissions subtab. In the Teams section, click the three-dot icon to the right of the team the user is on and select Edit User Type. Delete and add desired user types for this individual’s account and select Confirm to save changes.

Set & Edit Teams:

To start, log into your Teamworks account in a web browser. Once you have logged in, navigate to Profiles, then either choose a user by selecting their name to access their profile or go to your own profile through My Profile

Select the Teams & Permissions subtab. In the Teams section click "+ Add To Team" and choose the team you want to add the user to from the dropdown. Select the user type this user should be for this specific team and choose "Add To Team" in the bottom right corner to save changes.

To remove a user from a team select the three-dot icon to the right of this team and select "Remove From Team" and confirm.

Set & Edit Permissions:

To start, log into your Teamworks account in a web browser. Once you have logged in, navigate to Profiles, then either choose a user by selecting their name to access their profile or go to your own profile through My Profile.

Select the Teams & Permissions subtab. Scroll down to the Permissions section and select or unselect the permissions you want or don’t want that user to have. When done, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Save. Make sure you are in the right team when editing permissions.

Notes: 

  • Users must have the "Manage Users" permissions in order to manage other users permissions, teams, and user types
  • If a user is on multiple teams, you can only edit the user types and permissions that they have for the team you are in. If you want to edit their permissions and/or user types for a different team select this team in the top right corner of the account and then navigate to their profile to make these changes for that specific team
